Hello room 7 and a big well done to those of you who have spotted the changes to mathletics, its even cooler now! Dont forget to get your 1000 points to get those cool certificates.

This term is going to be a big one with production (bring your singing voices) and the Rugby world cup.  I have put a link to ruggerland on our blog, start having a play if you are able to.  It took me three goes to win the memory game :(

What a huge term!

Wow Room 7 what a massive term!   I hope you are all very proud of what we have done this term around your learning and of course the money we donated.  We have two weeks to go and lots of exciting things still to achieve this term. The big focus will be on learning to tell the time both digitally and using an analogue clock.  I have put a new game in our maths section for you to practice.  Also winter tournament is coming around fast.  Keep up the good work and lets keep only getting greenies. :)

Successful 7's Car wash!!

Hi this is successful 7 here is a picture showing how much money we raised.  We raised $240 what a great effort.  We would like to say a big thank you to those people that supported us.  Also a big thank you to those people who tipped us extra for our work too.
The money is now going to Ethiopia to help them build water wells.

COST: $5.00 outside wash
            $5.00 inside vacuum
            $8.00 for both

WHY: To raise money to make wells that bring life giving water to Ethiopia instead of the disgusting dirty guinea worm parasite infected water that they have now.

If you donate to other countries with hardly any clean water it will make a huge difference. People will be able to live longer and enjoy there life. If people don't have enough water they will get diseases like the guinea worm. The guinea worm is a disease that is very painful and can take up to months to get rid of them with a stick. People in other countries like kenya and ethiopia have about 15 to 48 liters of water a day when we have 741 liters. So why don't you help a big difference, remember every bit of money helps.

W.A.L.T:become C.S.I detextives.

We have been learning to skim and scan the texts we are reading.  We also have been learning to visualise to make reading easier.  This week we have changed to also think about making connections like text to text, text to self and text to world.

We feel that these things make reading easier because we can understand what they are saying and what they are going through.

Hello I hope your holidays are treating you well, Jayden and I have loved hanging out but I am missing you guys!

A big congratulations to those of you who have been on Mathletics and got your bronze certificates.  All up there are 7 of you with 3 of you who have two certificates.  It is not too late to get on the list.....there may well be a surprise in store for those who do :)

Just to let you know how it works, each week you need to get as many points as you can in a week.  The next week begins on the 25th April.  To be the first person to get a silver you need to get four bronze certificates in a week.  I hope this helps.....Happy solving

Diamonds Maths

WOW

Two weeks to go Room 7 and a huge two weeks at that!  This week we are going to write some cool character descriptions about our special person, there is the ripper rugby tournament on Thursday, we are going to record and publish our maths strategies and we are going to learn to play jail tag so we can win the Tararua Trophy!  I hope you have rested up and are ready for another debate as well!!  See you tomorrow :)

Debate about-should wild animals be kept as pets

Today in successful7 we have been doing a debate about whether or not we should keep wild animals as pets.  So far not to have them is winning but the tide of debate could change.  If you would like to contribute to the argument please leave a comment right here at successful7, thanks Billy.
